Friday, May 5, 2023 - Decanted three hours before service. In the glass, dark, deep purple, fully saturated - more like a barrel sample in appearance than a 15 year old wine. On the nose, muted graphite, leather, and currants. On the palate, plums, currants, graphite, and smoky oak, with a silky, almost lean midpalate and finish. This isn't a showstopper by any means, and I don't know that I would expect much more from further aging, but for a difficult vintage, this was a decent performance.
