Saturday, September 27, 2008 - Very nice St Joseph. Primary ripe blackberry fruit and some black olive in the nose with good depth and concentration. The wine has a nice balance of acids and ripe tannin structure. It is drinking well at the moment. Shame the price has crept up to the mid $30 range here in the US. The wine held up well after 24 hours of being opened with the acidity a little softer and the fruit showing less with more olive and mineral showing up on day 2. I think this will age nicely.
