Friday, May 22, 2020 - shared with pat at selkirk manor. celebrating the completion of another week of staying in place/sipping in place due to covid-19. i continue to pull bottles from the cellar with past due drink by dates. even though some sources projected further longevity, lack of recent feedback from other tasters prompted me to see what was going on with this wine. the wine proved to be very substantial. deep purple color. generous fruit on the nose. complex mouth feel and taste profile. coffee, chocolate, earth, dark skin fruit. firm structure. drinking very well now. doesn't look or taste like a nineteen year old bottle. will probably continue to show well for several more years. a nice find from lbw. will look for more recent vintage.
