Sunday, May 3, 2009 - Wow, gone are the hard tannins it once it had in its youth. It's earthy and medium mocha flavors dance on the palate. There is pencil lead and wet stone, some minerals too. The balance is perfect and the finish ecohos the wet stone and minerals for a long time. It avoided the cured black olive and herb flavors other big Napa cabs can get at this age and instead, opted for finesse and balance. I say drink this year maybe next.
