Tuesday, March 9, 2021 - {Purchased Sept 2020 from a trusted source; perfect fill} Tasted over two days with Coravin in between. Red core with just an hint of russet brown on the rim. Lovely, long nose with Pauillac-like scents, tobacco, red more than black fruits, some white pepper; palate was deep and reflective of the nose, excellent length. Rated it 91-94 at one time or another. A marvel, and marvelous that it is still in the market for a very reasonable price! Tiniest hint of brett and VA in the background added complexity and did not detract. This bottle was in a great drinking window and no signs of needing to be drunk immediately. I will try to find more!

3/10/2021 10:44:00 AM - Hi - nice note. Not sure if you're UK-based but I just picked up a case of this at Waitrose when they did one of their 25% off events - and that brings it in at about GBP21; which must the the most outrageous bargain in the world of wine right now - the new vintages retail at GBP30 on release now, and here's a very good, (nearly) mature vintage at a shade over 20. Someone in Waitrose hasn't read the pricing manual :)

3/11/2021 4:02:00 AM - The current Waitrose deal is a real bargain, even when paying full price! The only slight worry is how it’s been kept over the years, before Waitrose got hold of it, and now being stored on the shelves. I’ve had one dodgy bottle so far out of four opened.

3/11/2021 4:14:00 AM - Indeed. My fill levels seem OK - though a little variable - and so far I’ve had two superb bottles from that lot. Fingers crossed the run continues. Cheers
