Wednesday, December 21, 2016 - Very well preserved. Now a pure almandine garnet in color. Lovely mature yet bright Pinot nose. Smells like a fallen log in the forest after it has rained, plus a lovely redcurrant-raspberry-red cherry mix that has been lightly bruleed. On the palate this still has a little tannin and lots of acidity. Remarkable structure for its age, literally no unwanted signs of oxidation. Bright but smooth, dry but sweetly fruity. Mellow but surprisingly rich. a little meaty. Quite long. An excellent bottle in impeccable condition. 12.5%. £50.
