93 Points

Friday, July 31, 2015 - Tasted blind. Pop and poured over dinner at Morganfields Suntec.
Appearance is clear, deep ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of grilled herbs, spices, blackberries, cedar, slight earth and graphite/pencil lead with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (16%), fine high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of blackcurrant, blackberries, dark plums, grilled herbs, spices, graphite/pencil lead, and cassis. Long finish.
Very good quality. I guessed a medium-aged Aussie Cabernet Sauvignon from probably McLaren Vale. Has pronounced intensity but is nicely balanced rather than a fruit bomb, despite the high alcohol. Will continue to develop over the next 8+ years.
95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5% Touriga Nacional, 2.5% Petit Verdot.
