Saturday, December 31, 2016 - Deep golden color. Honey and botrytis on the nose. The sharp acid overpowers the sweetness that was suggested when sniffed. Some honeysuckle and lime. Medium long finish, but the astringency is not entirely pleasant. More interesting than delicious as the Gewurztraminer floral/perfume essence fights with the VT sweetness. On day 2, paired surprisingly well with rich, sweet chocolate truffles.
