Interesting wine, with the exotic Gewutrz notes that have matured. Acidity is not as great as I would like, but there is a pleasing bitterness on the finish that I quite enjoyed. Not sure how to pair this with food though.

I very much agree with the last few posts before me. The nose is amazing, however the wine itself is more interesting than delicious. Smells like the best sauternes that I have ever had, but the gewurztraminer, in desert wine form is probably just not my cup of tea. Or this wine is just a little too disjointed for me

Deep golden color. Honey and botrytis on the nose. The sharp acid overpowers the sweetness that was suggested when sniffed. Some honeysuckle and lime. Medium long finish, but the astringency is not entirely pleasant. More interesting than delicious as the Gewurztraminer floral/perfume essence fights with the VT sweetness. On day 2, paired surprisingly well with rich, sweet chocolate truffles.

Ringing It Out, Ringing It In-Three Days of New Year's Celebration; 12/31/2016-1/2/2017 (San Francisco): Full golden color. Strident grapefruit aromas. Full, bordering on heavy but saved by surprising (for the varietal), vibrant acidity. Moderately sweet, some high tones of botrytis, apricot fruit, moderately long finish without any Gewurztraminer cyanic bitterness. I don't love the varietal, but I did admire this wine, finding it fresher than expected for its age and not as overwhelming as Zind Humbrecht VT wines can be. As the generous provider of this bottle noted, probably more interesting than delicious. And so 2016 comes to a close.

Sweet, complex, sauterne like nose with underlying floral notes; Rich and decadent with nice viscosity and mouthfeel. Candied peach and apricot flavors up front with floral notes reappearing. Perfect balance of sweet fruit, texture and acidity. Enjoyed with traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Sweet enough to serve as a dessert wine. Best Gewurtztraminer I've had to date.

Drinking beautifully, and paired fairly well with a stir-fried steak with pineapple and cashews. Was slightly too sweet for the dish, but not as sweet as many ZH VT's. Perhaps an indice of 3?

This had a very nice golden color and with some nice floral aromas. When tasted, I was immediately astonished by the strong sweet tastes of honey and apricots. This was one incredible wine but it's hard to categorize just when this wine should be drunk within a meal. Spicy Thai food is a must!

Pop and pour, consumed over 2 hours. Excellent honey, rose petal, hint of fig nose. Waxy gewurtz, long and rich. Perfect for apres around the fire. Too delicious and drunk before the substantial honey notes emerged that have been present in previous bottles. Was still on the upswing with the last drop, so could merit a higher score with patience. Plenty of life left.

Beautiful. Rich spicy, orange zest and anise. Medium sweet, which didn't hold it in good stead with the sweet dessert it was served with. But the score reflects it by itself. Yum.

The wine looks amber/honey colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. Luscious Honey and apricot notes.
The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long.

Pre-Auction Wine Tasting w/ ZHs and Colgins (NYC): Big, massive wine. Full of spicy, nutty fruit. Wonderfully long finish, but not as spectacular as the 94 Clos Windsbuhl.
