Saturday, July 16, 2022 - Double-decanted back into the bottle about 3 hours ago. Nose is classy Bordeaux with grape leaf, pencil shavings, barely ripe black plum. Palate is a bit of a let-down after the nose; it’s a little thin and a little soapy with ripe black cherries, mint, cocoa powder, strong grippy tannins, middling acidity, middling finish. I think it was a well-made wine but probably just three or four years over the hill. On the other hand, it is definitely still getting better as it gets more air so maybe it is just in a dumb phase right now? Lol sorry I guess this note is not very helpful for anyone else who has this wine in their cellar : D
