Friday, June 10, 2016 - A lost Friday afternoon gathering – Burgundy, Piedmont, Riesling, Champ and Sautenres (The Grill Room at Rosewood DC): Still reasonably expressive nose displaying dark cherry fruit, tar, leather and earth. Good concentration, surprisingly generous dry cherry fruit driven palate impression, bright acidity and medium long finish. The piedmont equivalent of a fully mature solid village red Burgundy from a great producer. Not showing a lot of finesse and complexity. Nevertheless, it is a very good mature Barbaresco with good concentration.
