95 Points

Sunday, September 6, 2015 - From Wine Watch Vertical of Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru (2000, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012). The 2007 was the wine of the night for the overall group and myself. The wines were decanted earlier, pre-poured in glasses beside each other, and were tasted over a 2 hour period. The dominant signature feature shared by these white Burgundies was a luscious and caressing texture. What made the 2007 stand out was its superb drinkability, chiefly from a more delicious fruit and bright citric acidity. Judging by how muted the nose of the just poured wines were and how much more open and flavorful they became as the evening wore on, the wines would have been better decanted a day before. No wine had reached its peak and even the youngest two were surprisingly enjoyable.
