Sunday, March 6, 2016 - Still just a massive wine. Two hours in, it has barely begun to give up what it has to offer. Tar, molasses, and bramble nose accented by blueberry/blackberry and spice. This wine was extremely closed upon opening.

After sufficient air time, it delivers a mouth-coating and super-long finish with blueberry, earth, allspice, molasses, garrigue and just a little scorched earth.

The first time I had this wine in 2011, it was an explosive powerhouse that actually outdid an Alban Reva in that it had similar density but with much more grace. Glad I have three more bottles and will not touch for another five years. From what I can see, the 2007 might have been an all-time best for this cuvee by some degree.

If you choose to open this, decant and give it three hours before trying it or you will be wasting some!
