Sunday, November 5, 2023 - I've had this many times over the years, with some bottle variation (notably one corked and then one excellent at the much-missed Sharrow Bay in October 2018). Last Sunday a good friend gave me another bottle in memory of that Sharrow Bay dinner. I am delighted to say it was absolutely textbook mature St Julien in perfect condition. Decanted an hour in advance and drunk with roast lamb. Fresh, still some black fruits, cedar, tobacco, wet leaves, damp earth, long finish. A lovely bottle. Thanks, Jude!
