Saturday, August 6, 2022 - This wine is getting rare so I felt obliged to give a review. This 375 was opened at a wine tasting event so it was tasted by several. From storage, I chilled for about 10 minutes so that it was cold but not too cold. We did not decant, but I took sips for about 30 minutes and got a feel for it’s evolution. Much tighter window on this as it is a rose and not your typical SQN red.
On the nose Strawberry and red fruit. Although you can tell it is descending , it still has fruit and life left. If you are saving one, I would consider drinking it soon.
It is big for a rose, and had identifiable petrol leading one taster to comment that it tasted a little like an u fortified port. I didn’t disagree with the comment.
Overall, it was pleasurable and a cool experience to try something very different , but I would not wait on this.
