This wine is getting rare so I felt obliged to give a review. This 375 was opened at a wine tasting event so it was tasted by several. From storage, I chilled for about 10 minutes so that it was cold but not too cold. We did not decant, but I took sips for about 30 minutes and got a feel for it’s evolution. Much tighter window on this as it is a rose and not your typical SQN red. On the nose Strawberry and red fruit. Although you can tell it is descending , it still has fruit and life left. If you are saving one, I would consider drinking it soon. It is big for a rose, and had identifiable petrol leading one taster to comment that it tasted a little like an u fortified port. I didn’t disagree with the comment. Overall, it was pleasurable and a cool experience to try something very different , but I would not wait on this.

Found in 1/2 bottle on a wine list for $55, so had to give it a try (never had any SQN previously). Very good, interesting wine - in a good way. Color was a touch cloudy reddish pink. I tasted some very nice acidity and there was certainly some interesting fruit flavors - well concentrated for a rose. Very much a mouth-watering, delicious effort that is drinking quite well now. If another bottle was left at the restaurant, probably would have bought it.

Since I didn't have this wine young, I can't do a before/after aging comparison. Now, there's not a lot of fruit, with the alcohol (14%) a bit too forward. Tasted kind of like a watered-down syrah weakling. Past its prime, but it's always a treat to try Manfred's creations. If you still have some, drink up!

Memorial day cook out and pulled this out as a surprise. It was me who was surprised that a 10 year + rose could still hold its own.

Great Grapes for a Great Cause SQN Tasting -- 3rd Annual; 5/7/2010-5/8/2010 (Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC): sweet strawberry palate with a liqueur like finish showing some heat. rather unremarkable.
