Tuesday, November 13, 2018 - 1st bottle of 6, I thought this would be a nice choice for a cold fall Ohio evening.
Patience is a virtue, and this tenet is fully on display as I sniff and drink this 11 yr old CdP.
Spicebox, woodsy notes, raspberry and red cherry, wet rocks, and mild anise on the nose.
On the palate, beautifully balanced red fruits and chewy tannins give way to cinnamon, wet wood, leather, and rocks.
The lingering finish is quite tense and soil-inflected, showing that this wine should drink well now through 2025+.
Delicious.
