Sunday, March 10, 2019 - This took me completely by surprise!These are some of my favorite Napa Merlots. The cork was pristine, color was still extremely lively. This reminds me so much of Merlot from Bordeaux vs many merlots out of Napa today. Aromas of blackberry, currant, cigar box, tobacco, baking spices and brown sugar. Still very fresh acidity and fantastic balance. The palate carries right bank Bordeaux cherry, clay, leather, cedar and some sage. Remarkable this 18 year old merlot. Who says these shouldn’t be aged! If you happen to still have one and have cellared it well it will go 10+ more years easy.
