Sunday, March 21, 2021 - Some BYO Wines at Noble Rot, Wellington: Brief note of a wine I served double blind to friends. Dark colour. Classic, serious Gevrey Grand Cru bouquet. Dark spices, grilled smoky meats, damp peaty soil, black fruit and wet iron. In the mouth, serious, dense and hugely powerful. Earthy with mushrooms, black cherries and blackberries. Iron at its core. Still relatively closed and tannic - give it 3+ more years. Grungy with bright acidity. Great with my beef dish.
