Saturday, December 25, 2010 - Drank prior to and after our Christmas turkey lunch. Straw gold colour. Nose of honeysuckle, beeswax polish, green apples, Vaseline, nice rich ripe canteloupe melon and Crunchie bar. Palate is thick slightly oily mouthfeel with a lot of toasty oak framed by lemons and limes and Granny Smiths apples acidity. The oak wins out on the back of the palate but it ends with a rich butterscotch and slightly overripe bananas finale. Not my normal style of Chardonnay but well put together and very enjoyable if you take it at a leisurely pace. Interesting to see how it will evolve over the next 2-3 years, which I suspect is its longevity window.
