Saturday, October 10, 2015 - For an appellation that still produces some rural merlot-based moonshine (/sarc), La Conseillante really deserves a special award for the consistent refinement and exquisiteness of their wines over the last decade. Voluminous, streaming, aromatic fragrances of blackberry, plums, red and black cherry, melon, anise, mint, milk chocolate. Elegant silky palate of red and black cherry, liquorice, orange peels, maracuja, apple, red forest berries, sage, chalk unfold beautifully encompassed by a perfectly judged acidity. Very serene and effortless and exquisite. Not as big, and rich as the 2005/2009/2010, but it still shares the same tempting finesse of those vintages.
