I kept saying to myself that there was a caramel taste but knew that wasn't it completely. Having just looked over the notes below I realize that what I was missing is that its slightly burnt caramel and or burnt sugar. Either way, it's the dominant flavor for me and I don't mind. It was a really nice Tawny. I've not had one in years but will add another bottle to my cellar. Enjoy!
