Sunday, November 24, 2013 - Purchased by the glass after dinner. Impenetrable inky purple color. Aromas of blackberry, cassis and chocolate, along with lavender and violets. Full-bodied and primary as one would expect, but with loads of black fruit, chocolate, kirsch and vanilla as well. Tannins have a slightly chalky feel at this stage. Long finish dominated by vanilla and cassis flavors.
