Monday, January 4, 2016 - Still very dark, deep purple core with just a hint of red on the rim.
Intense, dark spice and black currant with plums. Very fragrant with violets and ink, licorice and tar, but really very fruit dominated. Super-ripe but the spice and earthy components balance it.
Blueberry and plum fruits dominate, some nice dark spicy tar and licorice flavours adding complexity. Medium to heavy weight texture, superb balance, super-refined tannins, amazing length. Too young but too delicious not to drink.
