Wednesday, July 8, 2015 - Re-iterate my 92 rating from last year. It's probably a 90-91 pt wine drinking like a 92. I've had several more of these in the last few months, with a handful left to go. The fruit has mellowed out it is not as jammy as some Cali wines can be. Nice balance of sharp acidity and silky fruit with a little soft tannin in the background. It's drinking at the peak now, it will not improve .... the future holds a reduction in acid until it gets flabby (that's a technical term!). So drink up now. It does benefit a little from a decant and approach it gradually over the first half hour, although I'm sure it's also fine out the bottle if you pop the cork 15 minutes before.
