Sunday, July 17, 2011 - Dark purple ruby hues with a thick, rich, creamy texture that glides effortlessly into the palate and onto the horizon. Rich, ethereal flavors of black cherries, currants, dark chocolate, mocha, cardamom spice ending with rich, chewy tannins at the moment. Just as dense as the Caymus Special Selection '04, and in spite of the 15.1% alcohol content, this one seems a bit understated at the onset, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just makes it unique. As the wine remains in the glass, it opens up more beautiful flavors of tobacco and cedar just before the alcohol kicks in. This is so good, it's ecstatic! 96 Pts. Drink from 2012 to 2025.
