Monday, April 9, 2007 - Still very youthful. Decanted and for the first couple of hours it tasted like a good, immature Rhone but with little Cote Rotie character. Only in the third hour did things start to develop. Nose of red fruits with some menthol and liquorice, a little game but not pronounced and no Rotie 'bacon fat' as yet. Similar things with the flavour, plenty of chalk and cherries for the first couple of hours and then something darker, more primal began to develop. Liquorice again, a touch of meat and a hint of herbs. This is potentially better that this score but needs more time.
