Saturday, October 29, 2022 - A mighty performance by this great vintage for Clos. Started off painfully mineral with typical Chablis crushed oyster shell. Decanted in a wide decanter and served in Zalto Burg once it drew enough air it gained noticeably in stature, depth and blossomed into a remarkably ample wine with salinity but also waxiness. Terrific and there is probably the potential to add 1-2 points in 5 - 10 years which is when this should really be at its apax. Of the Clos I had I think this is second only to the 2010 and a touch ahead of 2012, but while the 2010 is already near proper prime the 08 might have time on its side…
