Saturday, February 27, 2010 - Good version of Shotfire. Dark purple, teeth-staining. Dark fruit, vanilla and caramel, smoke on the nose. Rich fruit, smoke, vanilla on the taste. Nice substrates of flavor, including black pepper, emerge after about an hour. Rich and full bodied to be sure. Still too young to drink, will improve over the next three to five years, I think. This has something for wine lovers and non-wine lovers alike. Best version since 2005.
