Tuesday, December 25, 2012 - Medium red with lighter red edges. Nose with strong animal notes including barnyard aromas, leather and meat juices; ripe red berries, mixed spices and some metal filings. The nose hints at a warm character but is nuanced and complex. Medium bodied with rather ripe red berries of medium concentration, good acidity, medium+ tannins, spice, some earth and leather aromas, aftertaste with sour berries and spices. Well made in a traditional style; ready to drink, can definitely take several more years of cellaring.
