Saturday, November 11, 2017 - 2017 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/9/2017-11/14/2017 (Villa D’este, Lake Como and Milan): Another big scale nose displaying decadent black fruit, blackberry jelly, mocha, rose, sap, grilled fat, spicy spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of opulent black fruit, silky, medium acidity, strong mineral presence, a hint of fine tannins and a long seamless black fruit driven finish. Just like the 09 CSJ, the opulent fruit has subsided, becoming more precise and classic. Another monumental wine that will need another decade or two to reach maturity.
