90 Points

Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - Shafer Vineyards Seminar with Doug Shafer (Lincoln Park Binnys Tasting Room): Soft nose of red fruit, plum, violets, some very light mint and plenty of coffee and mocha. Suave tannins, but very young and full of life. Some pleasant greeness and cofee on the back end. Complex and very suave. Approachable now or put away for a few years, depending on your preference. Excellent but does not have the intense concentration of fruit like the rest of Shafer's wines.
