Saturday, June 26, 2010 - The Novelty Hill Merlot is a near-transparent ruby with a medium body. The nose is a complex mix of vanilla, cherry and spice. Silky smooth tastes of black cherry fill the mouth. This has a nearly syrupy quality and loads of fruit making it seem almost sweet. The medium finish has more cherry and a solid amount of oak. This one will definitely last for a few years. This is a very solid effort.
