Friday, March 26, 2010 - Clear, bright, pale straw colored white wine with glints of silver and green, bubbles clinging to the glass, medium concentration, with medium viscosity. On the nose the wine is clean, medium intensity, youthful smelling, stone fruit aromas of ripe white peach, subtle apricot, pink lady apples, and grapefruit skin. Cool, stony minerality. On the palate, the wine shows balanced sweetness, light-body, with more citrus on the palate: sweet grapefruit, sweet lemon, and Tangerine. White peach, nectarine, and apple. The wine is very floral, stony minerality, 8.5% alcohol, bright but balanced acidity, with a sour apple and slightly bitter nectarine-skin finish. Finish is very long with lingering and pleasant sweetness. Superb quality. Outstanding value. The Leiwener Klostergarten is across the Mosel opposite Laurentiuslay.
