Great riesling. We were having Brat's and followed a suggestion I found on line for food pairing....match the country the sausage is from with wine from that country.....worked out very very well!

Superb value, I didn't get the plethora of notes Jesse rendered, but this wine IS tart. I get more Ambrosia apples than pink lady ;-) but also citrus on the finish and fine long finish it is. This is a textbook example of a beautiful young Moseller, balancing sweetness and acidity. Rosch is a well regarded producer in Germany *****, DeeVine scored a good producer. This wine scored in a conservative (especially for Kabinetten) german publication 2001:88 2002:89 2003:85 2004:88 2005:88 2006:87 ... I need to buy some newer books !

Clear, bright, pale straw colored white wine with glints of silver and green, bubbles clinging to the glass, medium concentration, with medium viscosity. On the nose the wine is clean, medium intensity, youthful smelling, stone fruit aromas of ripe white peach, subtle apricot, pink lady apples, and grapefruit skin. Cool, stony minerality. On the palate, the wine shows balanced sweetness, light-body, with more citrus on the palate: sweet grapefruit, sweet lemon, and Tangerine. White peach, nectarine, and apple. The wine is very floral, stony minerality, 8.5% alcohol, bright but balanced acidity, with a sour apple and slightly bitter nectarine-skin finish. Finish is very long with lingering and pleasant sweetness. Superb quality. Outstanding value. The Leiwener Klostergarten is across the Mosel opposite Laurentiuslay.
