Tuesday, December 6, 2016 - Romanée-Conti v. La Tâche: [Magnum] This is quite different from the '85 La Tâche as this has a more secondary underbrush and earth driven nose but then a very fresh and stemmy floral note comes through. Complex notes of coffee grinds and smoked seaweed. Whole cluster is evident in the stalky and rather green palate. Palate is simply incredible though. Rich and dense but a symphony of flavours overall. Perfectly constructed with massive flavours, hedonistic and spicy vosne juice, transcendent balance, and a soaring finish. Incredible.
