Friday, January 11, 2013 - nose; cigar tobacco, brioche, toasted hazelnut, and honeycomb.
palate; mcintosh apples, black truffles, amontillado sherry, and caramel fudge.
medium acidity.
few tiny bubbles.
60 plus second finish.
while i love champagne young or old, i feel that the greatest ones are best when aged 20-30 years.
KRUG had a great decade for champagne in the 80's, with 1982, 1985, 1988, and 1989 all being special.
this was a very special treat on my birthday, thank you KRUG!
