Friday, May 30, 2014 - Tasted at a merchant dinner with Silvia Altare. Very dark and dense ruby. Expressive nose of licorice, plum, vanilla, dried fruit with a bit of tobacco. Reminds me of Barossa Shiraz. On the palate full bodied with a touch of alcohol but very good fruit and ripe tannins. This is quite southern in style but a complex and sexy Barbera that did well with the crowd.
