Shows huge cracked pepper, iron, blood and excellent acidity. Truthfully at age 5 this wine remains too young. It has the material to go a decade at least. Enjoyed this bottle with grilled lamb burgers and some kalamata olives. The wine thrived with food. (Also had 3 bottles of this last weekend with some BBQ...2 were as good as this one, but one was a bit subpar...maybe mild TCA?) In any case, an excellent CdR that far exceeds the modest appellation (and is priced above, which is fair).
