Saturday, May 20, 2017 - Amazingly enough, this ten year old bottles shows no signs of ageing. "It is so youg" - one of the guests said out loud. The 2007 La Pèira exhibits massive and wonderful primary fruit. Our guesstimate tonight is another 20 years will do it justice, if you can just keep your fingers away for that long. Further to this, the wine gives a full-bodied and powerful, yet elegant and seamlessly velvety impression. This is an elephant capable of dancing the most beautiful ballet. As said many times before for those of you who know my TNs by now, I often say that elegance and power are difficult to combine and found only in the best wines of the world. This is certainly true for the 2007 La Pèira. Lavender, fresh herbs and subtle lovely garrigue all add to the first impression. The nose is exquisitely balanced and integrated. It exhibits a richness which is just top notch. The palate is becoming more integrated but it is still a lot of everything with no hard edges. There are still no better words to use: This is world class! (score is 97+)
