Tuesday, February 18, 2020 - Fits the bill nicely for a rosé champagne that pairs well with food. I think the color caught me off guard...deep ruby colored in the glass. Aromatically it shows lots of strawberries, rhubarb, limestone and rich strawberry spread. Balanced and “down the middle” on the palate...not super light and refreshing (like Billecart) but obviously not super rich and oxidative (like Krug). Strawberry cream, gummy fruits and chalk round out the finish. Non offensive and fairly classic. At the price point, Charles Heidsieck Rosé takes the cake for me.

Are you a fan of Marc Hebrart or Camille Saves Rose?

3/3/2020 9:23:00 PM - I haven’t had the rosé from either. I’ve enjoyed quite a few of Marc Hebrart’s champagnes but have never come across the rosé. I’m not familiar with the other producer you mentioned. Are they fairly easy to find if looking?

3/4/2020 7:39:00 AM - The Hebrart Rose is the easier to find of the two. I’m in Minneapolis and it can be found retail for $60. It’s a fantastic bottle. It’s quality is up there with the $90/$100 bottles.

The Camille Saves is a bit hard to track down. Envoyer wines runs an offer on it I hear. I’m hoping to score some next time to try it. I hear good things and think it’s like $50 a bottle.

I will have to try the Charles Heidsieck Rose too. You and others have said good things.
