I wonder if storage prior to you purchasing them might be the reason for the issue. Unlikely to be two independently faulty bottles. I hope it has not put you off trying again as this can be a fantastic champagne.
I had the same experience about a year ago with some 375 of Billecart Rose. Kinda came to the conclusion they just sat in a warehouse or on a shelf too long. Just dead.
Sounds like another lazy big marquee house not putting disgorgement on their bottles. I have a few of these to try and hope I get better bottles!
