95 Points

Wednesday, December 30, 2020 - Tasted double blind. This is a fully mature wine drinking at its peak. The highlights are the Bordeaux-like tertiary aromatics which are paired with sexy fruit and caramel aromas as well as the creamy texture and good freshness. It doesn’t reach the heights of the best 94s (Dominus) in terms of complexity, precision, airiness and the nose is not as expressive as the palate but is nevertheless a wonderful wine and so much fun to drink today.

TN: Medium expressive nose with some dark fruit and fine forest floor, truffle and barnyard aromas. The palate is king here with a creamy texture, a fine tannin structure and good freshness. It display ripe dark fruits, caramel, herbs, minerality and several layers of tertiary aromas with truffles, leather and tobacco. It is quite expressive but less complex and precise as other wines from this great vintage. The length is good but not great.

Decanting: Decanted and served. Good from the go. Doesn’t seem to need a long decant.
