92 Points

Saturday, August 27, 2011 - The first of a half-case in honor of my daughter's 10th birthday, as others have said this is just entering its prime. Staunch cherry, currant, forest and graphite upon opening, then left open in the cellar (but not decanted) for 2 hours before pairing with grilled top sirloin steaks. This had not changed too much, showing very youthful. Not yet very velvety, but with well-integrating tannins and chewy fruit, oak, and graphite. Medium-full bodied with a youthful short finish, this was very, very nice, and is only going to get (much) better in the next 10 years. This is going to be fun to periodically experience in concert with my daughter's significant early experiences in life!
