Sunday, May 10, 2020 - Fresh red fruit on the nose; with a little bit of pleasant musk on the first pour, which quickly dissipates. Lean on the palate, with a bit of bitterness making it seem thin. Decent acidity. Taken in the round, reminds me a little bit of an awkward, young Burgundy. Will decant the rest and see if it improves.

About 2 hours after the initial decant, it has taken on some weight - possibly too much. Some heat on the nose. Mushrooms, tar, density on the palate. There is some acidity, which keeps things interesting. Feels a little heavy handed; may need more time. There is a bit of sweetness, and the bitterness has receded somewhat but is still there. There is also pleasant pepper. Long, tongue-clinging finish.
