Monday, April 21, 2008 - Suprisingly deep gold in colour but was lighter at the bottom of the glass. The nose initially had the slightest sulphur rotten egg which blew off leaving some citrus. There wasn't much yeast or other bread dough on the nose leaving us with the impression that this certainly wasn't champagne. The palate came over as a deep rich white wine that happened to have lots of refreshing bubbles. It was packed with zesty citrus and nice minerality. Not the most complex sparkler, but it was a very good start to an enjoyable evening.
