Friday, October 12, 2018 - deepish purple color still after all these years, plums and dark spice on the nose, hints of oak, secondary earth notes, on the palate the fruit is quite sweet and still going at full throttle but this does appear to be passing peak now, a long finish that is just showing hints of hardening at the tail end, lovely meat and cherry tones with time, still a beauty but I would drink this soon, I suspect as it goes into decline it may follow the path of the formerly magnificent 1988- meaning it will retain much of its core scale, but become somewhat hard. ****, now to 2025
