Monday, December 31, 2012 - Disgorged April, 2011. Mostly 2009 fruit. Light yellow. Vivid, ripe Mandarin orange and apple aromatics. Medium weight. Transiently sweet entry but then tremendous tart lemon and terrific stoniness. Just delicious-I wish most 2009 Chablis had this whiplash of a finish. It is hard to believe that this is a Blanc de Noir, though. Very atypical in that respect, not that I'm complaining, and also quite different from the red fruit character of the prior year's cuvee. To be fair, though, as it sits open, it tastes more like Pinot.
