Wednesday, April 10, 2024 - French >$150 theme: Best red of the night for me by far. Quintessential old-school Bordeaux, but I guessed a left bank from a cooler vintage like 2002. Some pleasant greenness and blackcurrant on the nose. Loved the restraint on this; a true iron fist in a velvet glove kind of wine. In the perfect stage of development with some secondary characteristics but still retaining freshness, loved the drive and balance of this. One of the most impressive Bordeaux that I’ve had.
