97 Points

Tuesday, October 30, 2012 - A lovely massive, yet strikingly elegant effort from Quilceda Creek. The nose offers deep profound red fruits, cherries and menthol. There is a also a rather vegetative tone adjoined by led pencil to be found. Palate is integrated with silky and smooth tannins. The length on the finish is superb. The overall impression is one of classy elegance and that this effort will continue to develop for many years to come. (Compared to last time I tasted this effort there is no sign of raisins which certainly raises the score. This is true also for the other vintages tasted in the same flight.)
